Buying guide
How much paper is in that pack?
“Double,” “mega,” and “family” are hard to compare across brands. Sheet count and sheet dimensions give you a firmer starting point.
Look past the roll-equivalent number
Use the package’s total square footage when it’s available. Otherwise, multiply rolls × sheets per roll × sheet width × sheet length. Divide square inches by 144 to get square feet.
For the same towel and sheet size, price per sheet is useful. Across different sheet sizes, compare the cost of the same paper area. Neither calculation measures how much a towel will absorb.
Small sheets change the count
Bounty Select-A-Size has adjustable sheet lengths. Brawny Tear-A-Square offers quarter, half, and full sheets. Check which perforated sheet size the package count refers to before comparing the two.
If you mostly wipe up small spills, the smallest tear-off size may matter more to you than the number of rolls.
Check the roll’s fit and the case’s footprint
Measure the space around a wall-mounted holder before choosing a wider or thicker roll. For a bulk case, also think about where the unopened rolls will go. A smaller case can be the more practical buy even when the larger one costs less per sheet.
