Buying guide
A spare cylinder and an exchange are different purchases
Choose the connector your machine uses, then separate exchanges from spare cylinders. The lowest advertised price may assume you return an empty.
Match the cylinder connection
| System | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Quick Connect | The machine accepts Quick Connect cylinders. |
| Screw-in | The machine has the matching threaded cylinder connection. |
SodaStream identifies Quick Connect with a pink valve seal and screw-in with a blue valve seal. Check the connection and your machine’s instructions as well as the packaging color.
Read what an exchange requires
SodaStream’s exchange program replaces an empty cylinder with a full one. A spare-cylinder purchase gives you another cylinder without that exchange.
For a shipped exchange, read the return instructions, deadline, shipping costs, and any charge for a missing empty. For a local swap, check that the retailer carries the connector you need. Compare the full cost of the transaction you can actually complete.
Treat the stated water yield as an estimate
SodaStream says cylinder yield depends on the carbonation level and machine. If you like stronger fizz, don’t treat the advertised maximum as a guaranteed number of bottles.
For a multipack, count the full cylinders supplied. Keep exchanges and spares in separate comparisons before dividing by that count.
